ESOP Bacolod City Chapter and BSP Bacolod City Council joins Earth Hour 2018.

The Eagle Scouts Organization of the Philippines (ESOP) Bacolod City Chapter and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Bacolod City Council celebrated the Earth Hour 2018 last March 24, 2018 at the SM City Bacolod, N4 Parking Area, Bacolod City. The Earth Hour Celebration was organized by SM City Bacolod in cooperation with different organizations in Bacolod, such as the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) and the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE). The celebration started with a Coastal Clean-Up headed by the PICE and was also participated by the Scouts, while the program for the Earth Hour 2018 started at 5:30 PM with a parade from Capitol Lagoon to the SM City Bacolod, N4 Parking Area. When the participants arrived at SM City Bacolod, N4 Parking Area, they were welcomed by drum beaters from the PICE and the management also prepared booths for face painting that is available for anyone for free. The program proper started with a presentation of the past Earth Hour Celebrations and was followed by the video presentations of the different participating organizations. After the presentations were a series of talks consisting of ideas about 10 little things you can do to save earth, E-Waste, and the like. At 8:30 PM the lights were turned off as the Earth Hour 2018 begins. While the lights were turned off the participants were entertained by Alab Poi and afterwards the participating organizations gave their pledges, for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, ESOP Bacolod City Chapter Chairman, John Dyrick Dormis gave the pledge of becoming Plastic Free Scouts. The activity ended with the messages of the administrators of SM City Bacolod and the organizing committee.
