Conference Objective:

·         Enlighten the Youth Community about the positive changes in the environment due to the pandemic, 

·         Bringing the Scouts of the OIC nations and Non OIC Muslim Community together to come up with sustainable solutions regarding the environment,

·         Bringing awareness to the scout about the importance of living harmoniously with the environment,

·         Giving the participants a sense of what can be done on an individual level to change the environment and make it better,

·         The talked about the initiatives can be adopted by the nations to the best practices of environment preservation.

Over the 5 days of May 27-31 2021, it was 100th anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Youth conference started with Opening ceremony in which Speakers from Bangladesh government, Libya Government and Asia pacific Scout Region were called, various videos was shown about the Bangladesh government and Bangladesh scouts. The youth conference had 8 sessions on Education for Sustainable Development and Scouts, Youth and Scouts in the Muslim World, Education for the Youth and Scouts and Climate Change: Role of Youth and Scouts respectively. The whole conference had a chief moderator and sub Moderator for various sessions. Speakers for the sessions were called from Bangladesh Government, Asia Pacific Scout Region, Libya, USA, Turkey, Qatar and Yemen. 20+ NSO’S were participating in the conference, 300 students were divided into 5 groups Padma, Meghna, Jamuna, Surma and Karnafuli respectively and each group had allotted 1 coordinator. Breakout sessions were held in interval after each session of 1 hour time period. Queries related to the topics were solved after the topics were discussed. On the 30th May, 2021 there was presentation from each group on the given topics from the conference organizers and come up with 10 solutions for the problems. I am glad to tell that I was the presenter and the spokesperson for my team Surma along with my sister from Bangladesh. Indeed it was a great conference of my scouting life. The last day of the conference was closed by interacting with participants from different countries and gaining information about their countries. The close ceremony was held and I was the represented and spokesperson of the entire conference with my other 2 mates. The 10th Secretary General (CEO) of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) Perihal Ahmad Alhendawi inspired us with his words. Various speakers from Bangladesh Parliament spoke in the conference with Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) President Taha Ayan. With this I conclude, The Scout Youth Conference held by Bangladesh was a remarkable event in the history of Bangladesh.
