Coastal Cleanup Drive at Sitio Malusay

In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 760 issued on May 5, 2014. The proclamation seeks to further the notion of a "circular economy," in which the production and consumption of commodities are controlled in a way that lowers waste volume and toxicity. Instead of the typical linear method of "take, make, dispose," the circular economy promotes resource efficiency, reuse, and recycling to reduce environmental impact. The Himamaylan National High School Senior Scouts, together with scouts from other schools, CDRRM, municipal authorities, and the PNP Maritime Group, participated in a coastline cleanup campaign organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office last January 26, 2024, at Sitio Malusay, Brgy. Caradioan in Himamaylan City. This event emphasizes the need of decreasing trash and promoting recycling programs. The gathered waste primarily consists of abandoned fishing nets, fabric, plastic wrappers, bottles, and plastic cups.
