Celebration of International Day of Girl Child at Reasi of UTJK
Bharat Scout and Guide, District Udhampur and Reasi jointly celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child under the guidance of District Secretary Sheikh Inayat Ulla in the Dev Kids School campus.
The chief guest at the program was Station House Officer, Sunil Sharma and District Chief Commissioner Rakesh Sharma.
Scout Master Rakesh Sharma said that International Girl Child Day is celebrated on 11 October every year. International Girl Child Day was first celebrated in the year 2012. To promote this day, different types of events are also organized in different countries on this day. Under this event, girls are made aware of their education, their legal rights, nutrition, medical care. In the program, a debate competition was organized by scouts and guides.Amook Sharma, Alok Pankaj, Prachi,Vivanshi, Afsar Ansari etc were the participants.The certificates were given to the participants by the Chief Guests. Chief Station Station Officer Sunil Sharma said that the main objective of International Girl Child Day is to protect the rights of girls and identify the challenges and difficulties faced by them. The main purpose of celebrating this day is also that by bringing awareness in the society, girls can be given equal rights, which have been given to boys. Scout master Amardev Singh, Ved Kumar and guide Captain Divyang Dubey have made commendable contribution in the program. Ashok kumar Dogra also make all to took a pledge that they will abolish gender discrimination of any kind.
Former District Chief Rakesh Sharma said that along with the education of children from Bharat Scout and Guide, a sense of nationalism, social and discipline comes in them and these children play a very important role in building the nation. At the end of the program, District Secretary Sheikh Inayat Ulla thanked all the distinguished and very special guests and the program concluded with a national song..
