Recent conflicts that affect the eastern Ukraine leave , every day ,hundreds of refugees , threaten democracy of a society and cause suffering to 5 million innocent people in a region that already has more than two million refugees. As Scouts, we promise to help others, hoping for peace among the different nations - and that is, what motivates us to do everything in our power to help the homeless people in Ukraine. Regardless of political ideologies, we defend democracy and the peaceful resolution of differences. Today, more than 500 thousand Ukrainians and descendants live in Brazil. Even far from their country of origin, they still preserve their customs that together with our culture, brought a lot of enrichment to our country. For this reason, and solidarious with the situation that affects Eastern Europe, the União dos Escoteiros do Brasil, together with the Consulate of Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Brazilian Central Representation, launched the campaign "Scouts of Ukraine", which aims to collect donations to help the thousands of refugees. Every Escoteiro do Brasil, who purchase the badge or sticker of the "Scouts of Ukraine" by the National Scout Shop will also be participating in this initiative, which will revert all profit from the sale of products for the campaign. The pin can be used in uniform until April 2016. We hope to see the spirit of unity and solidarity Scout mobilize our society, for democracy and the rights of thousands of families. How to participate Donations can be made by anyone, at PayPal, being totally reversed for assistance to the victims. In partnership with the NOSU, National Scout Organization of Ukraine and Eurasia Regional Office we will make sure the donations will attend realistic local needs. Members and nonmembers who make donations above US$ 20,00 (twenty US Dollars) will receive the campaign products as a thank you.
