Better World Framework
The Better World Framework is defined as a set of coordinated programmes, campaigns, calls to action, and events designed to develop the competencies of young people to become global active citizens by taking action around issues related to sustainable development.
The Better World Framework Initiatives:
The Messengers of Peace Programme inspires Scouts to build a culture of peace and encourages them to share their actions with others to help build a global network of service.
Contributing to peace in 3 dimensions:
• Peace starts with me
• Peace starts in my local community
• Peace starts with a collective effort
The World Scout Environment Programme connects with nature, interact with the environment, and to take action to protect it with 5 main aims:
• People and natural systems
• Sufficient natural habitat
• Risk of harmful substances
• Environmental practices
• People are prepared for hazards and natural disasters.
The Scouts of the World Award challenges all young people aged 15 to 26 years old, Scouts and non-Scouts, to think about the global issues they value and act upon them in their local community. The projects are led in three main fields of action:
• development,
• peace, and
• the environment
The Dialogue for Peace Programme invites Scouts to discover how they can incorporate dialogue into their everyday lives. The Programme offers 3 levels to develop skills and promote understanding:
• The Dialogue badge

• Dialogue trainer

• Gender equality
• Quality of education
• Social inclusion
• Advocacy
The Scouts Go Solar badge
The Programme aims to create awareness of the responsible consumption of energy by increasing the knowledge and developing the skills of Scouts in implementing solar energy as an alternative source of power.
The Patrimonito Scout badge
The Programme challenges young people aged 15 to 26 years old, Scouts and non-Scouts, to carry out their Scout of the World Award discovery and voluntary service on a UNESCO World Heritage site. This Programme aims to raise awareness and mobilise young people to participate and help in World Heritage preservation and promotion.
YUNGA Challenge Badges
The Programme aims to raise awareness, educate, and motivate young people to change/adopt new behaviors and become an active agent of change in their community.
