Awareness Campaign on Menstrual Hygiene.

What inspired you to take up the project?

I was motivated to carry out the awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene in the community because many girls and women still hesitate to openly discuss menstrual health due to shyness, stigma, and lack of awareness. The campaign was also aimed at promoting confidence, dignity, and good health by educating the community on the importance of proper hygiene, use of sanitary products, and breaking misconceptions related to menstruation.

What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?

Through this project, I learned the importance of community awareness and teamwork in bringing positive social change. I also gained confidence in communicating with people, understood the challenges faced by girls and women regarding menstrual hygiene, and realized the importance of breaking stigma through education and open discussion.

Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?

The project was executed by dividing the teachers and students into three different groups. Each group was assigned to one of the three villages in the community. The teams visited the villages and conducted awareness talks on menstrual hygiene, focusing on the importance of personal hygiene, proper use and disposal of sanitary products, and breaking myths and misconceptions related to menstruation.
