Advocacy on Jangsem Monday(Go Meatless on Monday)

The Scouts of Bukkey Primary School lead by three scout leaders has successfully conducted 'Advocacy on Jangsem Monday (Go Meatless on Monday). The school is located in remote place of Sountern Bhutan. The school consist of 81 students and 51 students are scout members. Out of 7 teachers 3 are scout leaders. The school is located in the middle of three village. In the north Malbasey, east Bukkey A and south Bukkey B. All three village are located almost 2 km away from the school. The students take hard time to go and learn in the school as they have to walk 1 and half hour to and fro. And teachers are left lonely weekends when the students are away.

Still then, the scouts are very active and interested to participate in any activities. The scouts have taken lead role to advocate on Jangsem Monday to nearby shopkeepers and drivers. The parents of the students have also promised to support in every ways to eat vegetables on Monday. They also promised to love and care animals.

Although the school is very small the teachers and students here are very much heath cautious and they strictly follow the Jangsem Monday. Seeing the vast benefit they have started to follow two days of Jangsem (Monday and Thursday). On this two days all the students and teachers eat green vegetables and fruits which is helpful to our body.

With this they always wish all the people on this universe GO MEATLESS and save animals. Happy Jangsem.
