Thee Scout Association of Nigeria held her yearly Annual General Meeting at Awka the Capital City of Anambra State on the 3rd to 5th of June 2016.No fewer than Six Hundred (600) Scouts and Citizens of Anambra State were present at the occassion. The Annual General Meeting was declared opened by His Excellency, Chief (Dr) Scouter Willie M. Obiano, The Executive Governor of Anambra State. The Governor who has been a Scout from Cradle having being the Son of Chief Obiano, The District Scout Commissioner of the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria. The Governor in his Address took time to Train Scouts and Scouts Leaders on the rudiments of Scouting. As part of these great celebrations, The Governor donated Two 30-Seaters Coaster Buses (being the biggest single donation any Governor or Government in Nigeria must have done to Scouting and Guiding Bodies in Nigeria). In his appreciation, The President of Anambra State Scout Council, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Peter N.C.Umeadi-FArib, thanked His Excellency for these good gestures. The Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engr. Ahmadu Rufai Mohammed- MON, said in his address that; if other Well meaning Nigerians could be investing in the growth of Young Scouts in their various States like what our Governor has just done and what the likes of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola did in Lagos State some few months back, this will take Youth Vices away from our Society. The Governor was decorated for his Contributions to Scouting, member of the Africa Scout Foundation by the Chief Commissioner of Scout of Nigeria and the Vice Chairman of the Africa Scout Foundation; Olori Omo-Oba Olusoga Sofolahan-Atibioke - FSM, FCE. The CC urged the Governor to equally look for ways of contributing into Africa Scout Foundation, so as to improve Scouting in Africa.
