Pack 78 Framingham, MA - 2014 Victory Over Hunger Garden

Again in 2014, the Cub Scouts of Pack 78 Framingham planned and planted a garden in Framingham, MA with 100% of the vegetables produced going to the homeless and those in need. This is the scout's second annual garden and they hope to repeat their success from 2013. Every fall, the scouts work to gather donated canned items for those in need. The scouts have a connection to helping others and wanted to take this further. The garden is growing vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, carrots, green beans, squash, cucumbers and more. The goal of this project continues to be creation of a free source of food for those in need who live in our community. In addition, the Scouts planned to create a cost effective food source producing an abundant harvest while learning about helping others and planting. Scouts are doing the work planting, caring for the garden, and harvesting the food as well as organizing the donations. 100% of the harvested vegetables are being donated to people who are homeless and in need of food in our local community.
