Community Project - tree planting
Our Group of cub Scouts undertook scouting Ireland recharge the earth program. We collected 100kg. Of used batteries for recycling. These were exchanged for young irish oak trees. The trees were planted as a common local community Project involving two tidy towns committees on either side of the river Shannon which divides the two towns of Lanesborough Co Longford and Ballyleague Co Roscommon hence our Scout Group name- Ballyboro! One tree was planted on either side of the river Shannon in view of each other - strengthening the friendship and the bond between our two communities.
