Green Scarves for Health: Remove Typhoid

Motivated to practice 'Service Above Self,' the Senhati Scouts actively participated in the local Typhoid Vaccination Week. This initiative allowed us to translate the theoretical knowledge of public service into real-world action, ensuring community health (SDG 3) while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in emergency response, leadership, and health awareness."
we believe education begins with wellness. Our core motivation was to raise awareness about the critical importance of hygiene and sanitation in our local school and community, especially to mitigate the risks of preventable diseases like Dengue and Diarrhea. Applying the Scouting principle of 'cleanliness,' this project focused on providing hands-on education (such as proper handwashing and safe water practices) to help children and families build sustainable healthy habits.
Through this project, you learned that merely providing information is insufficient; you must know how to effectively deliver a crucial message (like the importance of a vaccine) to people of different age groups (8-15-year-old children) and social backgrounds. Working with the health workers, you observed how vital their use of local language and a gentle approach was in overcoming fear or misconceptions about the vaccine.
