Challenge
Healthy living and eating is vital, it's time to nourish! With the Nutrition challenge, young people can learn about healthy eating habits, understand the importance of nutrients, and embrace diverse nutritional needs to lead healthier lives.
Healthy lifestyles, healthy eating choices, and taking action!
Nutrition is not just about what we eat; it is about how we fuel our lives. It’s like the foundation of a strong and healthy lifestyle, providing the energy and nutrients we need to thrive. Through understanding nutrition, young people learn to make informed food choices, appreciate diverse dietary needs, and develop healthy eating habits that support our growth and well-being.
By nurturing their knowledge of nutrition, young people can improve their overall health, enhance daily performance, and inspire others to lead healthier lives.
Why the Nutrition challenge?
A key component of this challenge is teaching young people that health is bio-individual, and that a healthy lifestyle looks different from one person to another. However, there are habits and practices we could all incorporate in our day-to-day lifestyle to feel our best and stay healthy.
The challenge will focus on educating, inspiring, and stimulating interest in young people in learning about different aspects of nutrition and encouraging healthy eating habits. It also aims to motivate individuals to change their behaviour and create projects that promote positive changes in their community.
As a final step in the challenge, a community service project needs to be implemented by the young people applying for the badge. It's the main purpose of the challenge, where all the knowledge and skills gained are put into action, creating a real and positive impact in community.
How can we support leaders to implement the challenge?
A Challenge Pack will soon be available on this page to support leaders in implementing the challenge with their Scouts, to help them earn their challenge badge. Stay tuned!
Learning Objectives: What young people will learn along the way?
The learning objectives of each challenge not only aim to educate and inspire but also to empower individuals, guiding them step by step on a journey tailored to their age. This personal progression ensures that each young person's knowledge evolves from one activity or project to another and builds competencies for sustainable development.
