Representing BSG India at ICSE 2026
It was a proud and memorable experience to represent The Bharat Scouts and Guides, India at the 8th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE 2026), held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on 2–3 September 2026, under the theme “Sustainability Education for Transformative Action.”
The conference brought together sustainability experts, environmental educators, researchers, policymakers, organisations, and young changemakers to exchange ideas and discuss solutions for a more sustainable future.
During the conference, I had the opportunity to participate in meaningful conversations and interactions on various important issues, including:
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Understanding the importance of achieving the 2030 Agenda through collective responsibility and youth participation.
Wildlife Conservation: Discussing the protection of biodiversity, preservation of natural habitats, and the importance of protecting wildlife for future generations.
Climate Change: Exploring environmental challenges, climate awareness, and the need for sustainable practices and climate action.
Sustainability Education: Understanding how education can inspire individuals and communities to adopt environmentally responsible lifestyles.
As a Scouts for SDGs and Messengers of Peace Coordinator, these discussions further strengthened my belief that young people have an important role in promoting environmental awareness and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Representing the scouting movement at an international sustainability platform was not just an opportunity but also a responsibility to carry the message of peace, environmental protection, and sustainable development beyond the conference.
I am grateful to the Mobius Foundation and the entire ICSE organising team for providing this valuable platform and recognising the importance of youth voices in sustainability.
This experience inspired me to continue working towards a greener, healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable world.
