CLOTHES & FOOD DISTRIBUTION AMONG ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN ON THE AUSPICIOUS OCCASION (DURGA PUJA, 2020]

On the auspicious occation of the Durga Puja,the Sarada Vidyapith Scout Guide Group have once again thought about social welfare these testing times. Having already continuously arranged community kitchens in several places for weeks from the beginning of the lockdown, the group arranged a food and garment distribution campaign for the street dwelling children of Sonarpur and Baruipur respectively. Day-1: Day 1 saw the group distribute masks,garments (for children aged from 5-16) and some food as well. About 55-60 children benefited from the program which took place near Sonarpur Railway Station on Mahapanchami(21/10/20).The volunteers did an excellent job to maintain the social distancing rules and regulations amidst the gathering. Day 2- The group went to Baruipur, near Kishore Sangha Club on Mahasasthi(22/10/20) and this time distributed sanitizers,masks,brand new clothes, and sweets,chocolates and biscuits to about 45-50 local pave-dwelling boys and girls.This time also,all the health protocols were strictly followed by the group. Summary- In two days of hardwork(21/10/20 and 22/10/20),The Sarada Vidyapith Scout Guide group distributed clothes ,food,masks and sanitizers to about 105 underprivileged children in Sonarpur and Baruipur.
