International Day of Peace

"Live in the moment and forever be at peace" First time in Fiji's history, International day of Peace was celebrated in a grand way. The celebrations took place at Saru MGM Primary School in Lautoka. I had taken three Young Scout from Votualevu Public School (my school) to participate in the celebrations. The Chief Guest for the celebration was Mr Hem Chand (Director-Primary). It was indeed a great opportunity to be part of this day since a lot had been shared by guest speakers on Peace. An approximate 650 participants took part in the celebrations which took place for 3 continuous hours. It incorporated speeches, poems and oratories by students, planting of trees, meeting and greeting with a smile, peace initials and oath taking. Great initiative had been taken by Lautoka Scouters Council in organizing this day which was highly commendable.
