Collection and distribution of gifts for flood victims
"As Rover Scouts, we are not just a uniformed group—we are human beings and have taken an oath to stand by people.
From this belief, whenever we see someone in danger, we rush to their side out of the pull of our hearts.
We could not remain silent in this flood disaster.
So, out of love and responsibility, we have started the relief collection and distribution program—so that no one is alone, so that the light of hope does not go out."
We, along with 14 organizations including Joypurhat District Rover, have collected various items as gifts for flood victims through our own personal funds, fundraising and local support and distributed gifts to flood victims in 5 areas of Lakshmipur district. Under this program, dry food and essential medicines were distributed to about 300 families.
Through this project, I have learned how to respond quickly to human disasters, how to deliver services by working as a team, and how true leadership is created through human empathy.
