Break the taboo
IIn many parts of Madagascar, girls' menstrual hygiene is never mentioned because it is considered taboo. Right now, things are moving, the situation is changing. The boyscouts started to talk about it openly and break the silence. In many communities on the Big Island, talking about menstruation commonly known as "rules" was until now restricted to an intimate conversation between mother and daughter. "Previously, it was forbidden to talk about menstruation because it had a direct relationship with the genitals. Now we are raising our voices to encourage parents to allocate a budget for menstrual hygiene for their daughters as it relates to their sexual and reproductive health, " Adopting responsible behavior encouraged mothers to take care of the menstrual hygiene of their daughters. He explains that girls have to change their towels every three hours and that for lack of industrially made sanitary napkins that could cost them dearly, they can use very clean pieces of cloth.Scouts are launching a project to educate young people to talk openly about menstrual hygiene. .The various activities are:: - Manufacture 2400 washable sanitary towels and 600 menstrual hygiene management kits that are reusable - Sensitization of 600 girls on good menstrual hygiene - Training 30 scout trainers on menstrual hygiene management
