Asia-Pacific Scouts turn SDG learning into action
The project was inspired by a bold idea: young people should not just learn about the Sustainable Development Goals—they should have the confidence and opportunities to bring them to life. Building on the energy sparked by regional webinars and Town Halls, the Asia-Pacific Region brought NSOs together to transform big ideas about sustainability. The goal was simple but powerful: help more young people step forward, take action and create change in their communities.
The project was delivered through a four-day, in-person workshop involving 41 participants from 15 National Scout Organizations. Through collaborative discussions, hands-on exercises and peer exchange, participants reviewed their Youth Programmes, identified opportunities to integrate Scouts for SDGs and developed practical actions suited to their national contexts. The workshop built on earlier online activities, turning shared learning and regional momentum into concrete plans for action.
We learned that NSOs do not always need to start from zero—many already have strong programmes and community projects that can connect with Scouts for SDGs. Hands-on exercises and peer exchange helped participants turn broad ideas into realistic actions for their own countries. The project also showed that online learning can spark momentum, while meeting in person builds the confidence, connections and energy needed to move forward.
