Asia-Pacific builds momentum for Scouts for SDGs
The project was inspired by the Asia-Pacific Region’s commitment to help young people turn the Sustainable Development Goals into meaningful local action. By connecting NSOs, programme leaders and young people, APR aimed to make Scouts for SDGs more accessible, practical and closely integrated into everyday Scouting experiences across the Region.
The project was delivered through four connected regional activities: a National Programme Commissioners’ Town Hall, two Scouts for SDGs webinars and the RISE Youth Town Hall. Together, these online events brought programme leaders, Scout leaders and young people together to exchange experiences, explore practical tools and strengthen learning around sustainability, health, peace and youth leadership.
We learned that participants value practical examples, real-life stories and opportunities to exchange experiences with Scouts from other NSOs. The project also showed that young people want to do more than attend—they want to contribute, connect and lead. Future activities should therefore create more space for interaction, hands-on learning and youth-led conversations that turn ideas into local action.
