Youth Action Against Dengue.
I was inspired to start this project after seeing a rise in dengue cases in my local community during the rainy season. Many people were unaware of how it spreads and how easily it can be prevented.
As a Rover Scout, I felt responsible to take action. My goal was to raise awareness through leaflets, posters, and direct communication to help people protect themselves and their families and build a healthier community.
I executed my project by planning key messages about dengue prevention and creating simple posters and leaflets. I used my own funds to print the materials. Then I distributed leaflets in local areas and placed posters in public spots. I also spoke with people directly, explaining how dengue spreads and how to prevent it by keeping surroundings clean and removing stagnant water.
Throughout this project, I learned the importance of community awareness in preventing diseases like dengue. I realized that simple actions and clear communication can make a big difference in people’s daily habits. I also improved my skills in planning, teamwork, and public communication through direct interaction with community members. Most importantly, I learned that as a Rover Scout, taking initiative can create real positive change in society.
