One of our Groups Leaders not only Volunteers with Scouting but he also works 2 hours a week with the Local Primary School near our Den. The Wodonga West Primary School is part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden School. The School grows their own Fruit and Vegetables and even has their own Chickens for fresh eggs. All the classes have a week about in the Garden, weeding, picking, planting, mulching or collecting the eggs. The following week they will spend time in the Kitchen making different meals from the produce they grow and collect depending on the season. It could change from Bacon and Leak Soup to Orange Marmalade. Our Leader will rack up approx 46 hours this year alone going in to assist in supervising the kids in the Garden and the Kitchen.
