Celebration of Fifth King's Birth Anniversary

Tuesday 21st of February, 2017 was very important day in the history of Bhutan. Each and every school in the nook and corner of our country was very busy to observe the day with varied activities such as songs, prayers, dances and showering of wishes to our beloved 5th King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck for his 37th Birth Anniversary. Chakidemi Primary School also joined the nation with full of joyousness in making the day historic. In fact, whole family of Chakidemi PS had been quite busy for few days in preparing some of the special items for most awaited day. On 21st of February, 2017, all the students and teachers gathered in the assembly ground at 8:50 am for the joyous event. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Chencho Tshering, Principal of the same school. The awaited day started with the arrival of chief guest. He was warmly welcome by the Nachung Scout Leaders and teachers. On his arrival, the National flag was flung up in the sky with shattering of wind all around and there we began to sing our National anthem with full of loyalty and dedication. It was followed by the offering of marching and 108 butter lamps. We also offered Zhabten and Jigten Wangchuk prayers for our King’s long life and prosperity in our country. In order to pay our tribute to His Majesty and the newly born Gyelsey Rinpoche’s long life , Mr. Chenga briefed on sherig pledges on elimination of all forms of social issues in the school such as harassment, bullying, rape, suicide, murder, thief, and substances abuses etc… from 2017. The day’s program went very smoothly as per the program list without any barrier. The overall event was coordinated by Mr. Sonam Zangpo, Non Academic Head. The day program looked fantastic as varieties of events were displayed. Finally the day program concluded with vote of thanks and Tashi Labey. Simple refreshment was also served.
