2017年8月19-20日，東門國小童軍團與石門社區複式童軍團聯團，針對南崁溪水檢測及流域步道垃圾清理活動。 台灣北端南崁溪為桃園市主要河川之一，全長30.73公里，流經龜山區、八德區、桃園區、蘆竹區、大園區等。過去，桃園市的河川因人口、都市經濟及工廠經濟快速發展，導致廢水污染相當嚴重。 桃園市政府於數年前，大力整治南崁溪及其支流，包含經東門國小流域的東門溪。針對南崁溪流域相關之地文、水文、人文環境及有效減免洪災，並維持河道之自然平衡。南崁溪溪魚繁衍，致鳥類棲息群聚，市府亦為為市民打造運動公園及自行車道，使文明與自然達到平衡。 On August 19-20 2017, Dong-Men Elementary School scout troop and Shi-Men community scout group joined the water detection and sidewalk cleaning activity along the river. The Nankan River is one of the main rivers of Taoyuan city, with a total length of 30.73 kilometers. It flows through Guishan District, Bade District, Taoyuan District, Luzhu District, Tay'uan District, and so on. In the past, with the population growth, the acceleration of urbanization, and rapid development of economy, river pollution problem of Taoyuan City was critical. A few years ago, Taoyuan City Government restored The Nankan River and its tributary, which effectively maintain the ecological balance of river. The river restoration helps fish multiplication and bird communities; the government also built the leisure sports park and bicycle lane along The Nankan River, which balance the civilization and ecology.
