Senior Scout Jude Praveen Wijetunge is leading a Messengers of Peace project at G/Yakkatuwa Junior College, Karandeniya, scheduled for August 20–21, 2026. As part of the requirements for the President’s Scout Award, a team of ten dedicated volunteers will contribute 120 man-hours to transform a neglected school hall and grounds. The initiative focuses on structural repairs, painting, cleaning, and gardening to create a safe, inspiring environment for the students enrolled in grades 1 through 5. This community-driven effort directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 4, and 10.
