Activity Description
  • With your group, talk through how you are taking action to reduce your plastic habits and come up with three things that you can do collectively to make a difference.
  • Share photos and ideas and then re-group to check your progress in two weeks. How much have you reduced your plastic use?
  • Some ideas to get your wheels turning: Ditch plastic straws, bring reusable bags everywhere and bring your containers when your order takes off.
  • Maintain the group and stick to its goals for three weeks

For future reference

Select at least three things that you can do to reduce the use of plastic:

  1. Buy a metal utensils kit that I can carry in my backpack
  2. Buy metal straws for my household
  3. Purchase a reusable shopping bag that I can carry in my backpack
  4. I can stop purchasing bottled water
  5. I can encourage my troop not to use single-use cups and plates at camps or Scouting activities
  6. Refuse to purchase fruits and vegetables excessively wrapped in plastic
  7. I can purchase a reusable water bottle
  8. In the future, when I go to a cafe, I can bring my coffee/tea mug.
