Tree Planting and Mentorship in Madaraka Primary

My motivation was the need to involve young people in environmental stewardship. When we teach children to care for the environment today, we're planting seeds of hope for a sustainable future. Young minds don't need to wait to become leaders, they can lead through their actions right now, shaping a future where sustainability becomes a way of life.

We engaged students in conversations about environmental conservation, showing them how their actions impact the planet. Through hands-on fruit tree planting, we taught them both the technique and the purpose of restoring nature and taking environmental responsibility. We encouraged them to embrace leadership in climate action now. The event blended education, action and inspiration to empower the next generation of environmental stewards, supported by partners who shared our vision.

Through this project, we kearned that young people are eager to participate in environmental activities and ready to lead when given the opportunity. Hands-on experiences like tree planting, combined with mentorship, spark lasting responsibility and pride. When education connects to action and values, it creates stronger impact. Most importantly, real change begins with small, intentional efforts—and youth are powerful agents of that change.
