Project Winter 2024
Our motivation for this project stemmed from a deep desire to spread warmth and joy during the winter season. Street children often miss out on simple pleasures like traditional delicacies, especially during festive times. By serving ‘পিঠা,’ we wanted to connect with them on a cultural and emotional level, showing them that they are seen, cared for, and valued. It was about more than just food; it was about sharing love and creating a sense of belonging.
We executed the project through careful planning and teamwork. First, we sourced fresh ingredients and mobilized volunteers to prepare ‘পিঠা’ in a hygienic setting. Next, we identified areas where street children gather and ensured the food was ready on time. Volunteers not only distributed the food but also interacted with the children, creating a warm, caring environment. This project was a heartfelt effort to spread joy and provide comfort during the winter.
From this project, we learned the profound impact of small gestures in bringing joy to others. It reinforced the importance of teamwork, planning, and empathy in executing meaningful initiatives. Engaging with the street children taught us resilience and gratitude as we witnessed their smiles despite their challenges. This experience also highlighted the need for continued efforts to support underprivileged communities and inspired us to plan more such impactful projects in the future.
