JOTA Satellite Communication YH2UFJ

Satellite communication plays a vital role in amateur radio, especially during emergency situations when mobile signals are unavailable. Scouts are currently learning to utilize satellite communication through IO-86, the ISS, and other satellites with a simple setup.

We are simple a straightforward introduction to amateur radio satellites, and we are practicing communication using phone mode while also receiving SSTV transmissions.

Scouts are excited to explore the world of amateur radio satellites. Although factors like satellite elevation and working conditions—such as antenna setup, power supply, and weather—present challenges, the overall experience left the scouts feeling joyful and fulfilled.
