WWF-TNSO in association with M.S. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Forest Department and Anantharasu Aided Middle School has organized World Wetlands Day 2013 at Maragyanallur, Vedaraniyam. WWF-India organized Balloon painting competition and environmental quiz competitions for student of 6, 7 and 8th classes. A total of 120 students from 16 schools took participation in the wetlands day celebration. Mr. Ramasubramanian, Wildlife Warden, Nagapattinam, Mr. Punniakodi, Tashildar, Vedaranyam and Dr. Selvam, Sr. Director, Coastal Research was the Chief Guests who delivered the wetland conservation speech as well as prizes to winners.
