Consume Smart, Live Green

The BSP National Office staff, along with APR WOSM representatives, visited the Tagum Council community garden to promote responsible consumption and sustainable practices. During the visit, Scouts, leaders, and local community members were encouraged to make mindful choices, reduce waste, and care for their surroundings.

Participants actively took part in 3 activities such as cleaning, maintaining, and restoring the garden, as well as harvesting local produce, and learning how to use resources responsibly while supporting environmental sustainability. The visit provided hands-on experience, guidance, and motivation, fostering teamwork, environmental awareness, and a shared sense of responsibility for the community’s green spaces

The activities provided a practical experience in sustainable agriculture, highlighting the importance of growing and using fresh, locally sourced food. Everyone gained a deeper appreciation for healthy eating, resourcefulness, and environmental stewardship, while working together to maintain the garden and ensure its continued productivity. The activity also reinforced the council’s commitment to sustainable practices and responsible consumption.
