From bottle top to maths' tool
In the Plastic Tide Turner's regional training we learnt about the impact of plastic pollution. We saw the need to clean up our school - Clarens Combined School in Kgubetswana, where we also need educational materials and tools to teach our learners geometric patterns.
We picked up the litter and recycled and reused the plastic bottle tops as educational tools in class. The Scouts recycled the bottle tops and made geometric patterns and teaching aid posters to use in Maths Class. The Scouts made posters indicating the advantages of the PTTC, and the Scout promise, Scout motto and Scout sign were made as a form of decoration and learning. This activity was very interesting for the learners and they were very exited to participate actively.
We learnt that anything is possible with anything. We can now make our classrooms look good and educational by using plastic bottle lids.
