Vitamin A Capsule Campaign-2025
My motivation to volunteer for the Vitamin A Capsule Campaign-2025 stemmed from a deep desire to contribute to the health and well-being of the community, particularly the children in the Eskaton area. As a Patrol Leader of the BIAM Model School & College Scout Group, I felt a sense of responsibility to take initiative and address issues affecting the health of young children. I was aware of the significant impact that Vitamin A deficiency could have on a child's growth and immunity, and this motivated me to participate in a campaign that could make a tangible difference.
Through this project, I gained valuable insights into community health initiatives, volunteer coordination, and the importance of public health awareness campaigns. I learned how to effectively organize and mobilize a team, manage resources, and communicate health information clearly to a diverse audience. This project also reinforced the importance of collaboration with local health authorities and other organizations to achieve a common goal. Most importantly, it deepened my understanding of how simple interventions, like Vitamin A supplementation, can have a profound impact on a child’s health and development. The experience also taught me the significance of leadership, community involvement, and taking action to address public health issues.
The project was executed in collaboration with local health authorities and members of the BIAM Model School & College Scout Group. I helped organize the distribution of Vitamin A capsules to children in the Eskaton area. This involved setting up mobile booths, educating families about the benefits of Vitamin A, and ensuring that children received the correct dosage. I also worked on raising awareness about the importance of regular supplementation to prevent Vitamin A deficiency, which can lead to severe health issues such as blindness and a weakened immune system. My role included coordinating logistics, supervising volunteers, and assisting in outreach activities, ensuring that the campaign reached as many families as possible.
