VEGETABLE GARDENING AT MHIS
I was inspired to take up this project because of the "Let The Earth Breathe" movement. I took this as an opportunity to start giving back to the environment and the community while inspiring others to partake in a similar agenda.
In partnership with the students from Wesleyan University Philippines, this project was made possible. The activity was conducted at Mabini Homesite Integrated School, where we planted around 50 vegetable seedlings of tomato, eggplant, pechay, and chili pepper.
This project would positively impact the community because of improved food access and nutrition. The vegetable garden can be a way for the students and teachers to engage in physical activities and have better community cohesion. It is also an eye-opener that helps us and our peers to learn and experience activities that benefit others, especially during these unprecedented times.
Through this initiative, I have learned that as a youth, we have plenty of things to contribute to making our planet a little bit better than we found it - currently and in the future.
