Trees for Peace and Sustainability

Climate change accelerates, natural resources dwindle, and pollution rises. The programme was inspired by the vision of creating a greener and healthier planet for future generations. Trees are the foundation of life, providing oxygen, combating climate change, conserving soil, and supporting biodiversity. The call for urgent climate action and the responsibility of youth in shaping a sustainable future motivated us to take up this plantation drive.
The plantation drive was carried out in collaboration with the local school authority and community members. Different species of indigenous and fruit-bearing saplings were planted in the school campus, community spaces. Awareness sessions were conducted to educate participants about the care and nurturing of plants. The programme also included cleanliness drives and discussions on reducing carbon footprints.
Participants understood that plantation is not a one-day activity but a continuous responsibility. Youth realized their role as climate warriors and how small actions collectively make a big impact. The importance of planting indigenous species for better survival and ecological balance was emphasized.
