Tide Turns for a Cleaner Coast
The beach cleaning campaign was inspired by the urgent need to protect marine life, preserve natural beauty, and promote environmental responsibility. Seeing the impact of plastic pollution on our shores, we felt a strong call to action. By uniting volunteers, we aim to restore our beaches, spread awareness, and foster a culture of sustainability. Every small effort counts in making a big difference for our planet and future generations.
The project was executed with the support of the Tamil Nadu Government and the Mayor of Chennai Corporation under the Marine Beach Clean Shore Initiative. With the help of 3,000 dedicated volunteers, we successfully removed around 10 tonnes of glass and plastic waste buried in the sand. This initiative not only restored the beach’s natural beauty but also raised awareness about marine conservation and sustainable waste management.
Through this project, we learned the power of collective action in environmental conservation. It highlighted the severe impact of plastic pollution on marine life and the importance of responsible waste disposal. We also realized that sustained awareness and community participation are key to maintaining cleaner shores for future generations.
