Serving Our Culture, Protecting Our Environment

As a Bhutanese, I believe preserving our cultural heritage and protecting our environment are our shared responsibilities. I volunteered during the Tshechu at Zangdopelri to keep our sacred festival grounds clean, manage waste responsibly, and ensure the safety and smooth movement of devotees and visitors. Through this service, I wanted to uphold the values of Tha-Dam-Tshig and community service while contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more meaningful Tshechu for all.

During the Tshechu, I volunteered as part of the waste management and crowd control teams. I helped collect and dispose of waste properly, encouraged visitors and shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness, and guided the crowd to ensure safe and smooth movement. Through teamwork and dedication, I contributed to preserving the cleanliness, safety, and cultural dignity of this important Bhutanese festival.

Through this volunteer service, I learned the importance of teamwork, discipline, and community responsibility. I understood that keeping our Tshechu area clean and managing crowds safely helps preserve Bhutan’s cultural heritage and reflects our values of respect, unity, and care for others. I also learned that even small efforts can make a meaningful difference in our community.
