A groundbreaking step by Sylhet Railway District Scouts in the service of humanity
Under the management of Bangladesh Scouts, Sylhet Railway District and with the financial support of London expatriate Taslima Begum Majumdar and Muhammad Rased Rahman government, a house was built for a helpless family severely affected by flood in Uzanigaon village of Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj for two days on August 19 and 20, 2022 AD.
As part of social development activities of Bangladesh Scouts, a group of 15-member leaders, rovers and scouts from different units of Sylhet Railway District stayed at the house of Md. Noor Uddin in Ujanigaon area for two days on Friday and Saturday to implement a new house construction project in return for manual labor.
Under the leadership of Sylhet Railway District Secretary Md. Anisur Rahman Sarkar Ehia, Sylhet Railway District Joint Editor Md. Atiqur Rahman, District Scout Leader Shamim Ahmad, Rover Scout Leader Yusuf Ahmad, Rover Scout Imran Hossain, Noor Amin Hriday, Azizul Islam participated in the social development project. , Ruhid, Faheem, Minhaj, Arif, Girl-in-Rover Riya, Saki, Scout Rakib and local dignitaries.
Team leader Anisur Rahman said that he felt very proud to have built a house for the family of homeless Nur Uddin. He also said,
People are for people, we should all stand next to the helpless people from our position.
On the other hand, Nur Uddin was overwhelmed with happiness and expressed his gratitude to all concerned and called upon the wealthy people of the society to stand by those who are helpless and homeless like him.
