Scout Spirit Beyond the Boundaries
Despite all the challenges, it did not dampen the spirit of the Scouts in Sigi, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. They live in rural areas, with quite difficult access, because their village is in a mountainous area with difficult road terrain. However, they have extraordinary Scout skills and spirit. This made me design Scout activities such as outbound, art performances, and campfires in June 2024.
This project was implemented for 2 days in Mamu, Sigi, Central Sulawesi province. Activities included outbound, exploration, art performances, and campfire. This project collaborated with the school and village government. This project was also to introduce Scouts to the community and village government, and adult involvement in supporting this activity is very much needed. This project was to train the Scouts' solidarity and build their self-confidence, discipline, creativity, and talents.
I learned a lot from this project. The Scouts in Mamu village have an extraordinary Scout spirit, so it needs to be continuously supported through positive activities. Increasing self-confidence is very necessary for the Scouts in Mamu village, because they will realize that they have potential.
