SANITARY PADS FOR LIFE

My name is Archie Mah and I'm from Liberia and I'm a Scout. I'm also a member of the Liberia Scouts Association. I was motivated by the numerous contributions that Scouts are making around the world and promoting the 17 sustainable development goals . I started this project because of the emergency menstrual periods that happened to most of our students in schools, workplaces and etc. my involvement to minimize the rate of open menstruation circles and reduce the health effects on them as well.
My project was implemented in Liberia specifically in Martha's international Preparatory high school located on the 3rd street sinker. I executed this project by purchasing some Sanitary Pads and distribution on school students negotiating with the school administration to allow me launch my project successfully and I was done through my personal efforts and voluntarily. Although not every participant benefited but at least 24 out 50 participants benefited so far.
At least 24 school going girls benefited from my project successfully and increasing rates in the open menstruation period has been dropped down and many students were appreciative doing my project. The rate of open menstruation will definitely reduce as time goes back because students will now make use out of such opportunities and also reducing the health effects on them as well.
I have learned a lot most especially the importance of giving and volunteering yourself as a scout and doing a good job without the high expectations of receiving rewards in return. I have learned a new idea working with students and people as well most especially with both Male and female students. I'm urgent every scout to be like me or more than me in volunteering and giving back to the needy without further expectation.
