PPRM x PPRMNS x PPMNS Beach Cleaning 2022
Since Malaysia's Movement Control Order was lifted, beachgoers have been swamped back to the coastline. Inevitably, there are trashes left behind. To preserve the beautiful beach and a better environment, King's Scouts Brotherhood of Malaysia (PPRM) has joined hand with its Negeri Sembilan chapter PPRMNS and Scout Association of Negeri Sembilan to clean the Pantai Saujana beach. This project also creates awareness to the public on the importance of conserving the coastal area and water.
Venue: Pantai Saujana, Port Dickson, Malaysia. Date: 6 Nov 2022 Time: 8.00am - 1.00pm Participants: 60 scouts + public Collection: 200kg of trash, including cigarette butts, plastics, aluminium cans, lighters, diapers etc. The participants are divided into several patrols to collect the trashes and the trashes are then gathered at the collection centre where they are categorized, weighed, recorded and packed accordingly. The waste was discarded while the recyclables are sent for recycling.
We estimated there are 5000 patronages and uncountable sea creatures are benefited from a cleaner beach. A cleaner beach/sea means a better environment and healthier aquatic animals. In return, healthier fish gives back a healthier food chain to humans. Additionally, the cleaner beach attracts more local/foreign tourists and helps boost the local economy.
Team coordination to separate the scope of works during implementation of the project. Application process with the local authorities. Education and awareness of the coastal conservation.
