Menstrual Hygiene & Anemia Awareness Camp
This project was inspired by the urgent need to break the stigma around menstrual health and address the growing concern of anemia among adolescents. Recognizing that awareness at an early age can lead to healthier habits, we aimed to educate both girls and boys, fostering understanding, empathy, and preventive practices to ensure the overall well-being of young students.
We executed the project at Sai Matriculation School, Madipakkam, on 05.08.2025, engaging 683 students. In collaboration with the school management, sessions were conducted by Dr. Nesa Kumar and Dr. Lazha, using interactive discussions, relatable examples, and simple explanations. Topics covered menstrual hygiene for girls and anemia awareness for all, encouraging healthy practices and balanced diets for long-term well-being.
Through this project, we learned that open, stigma-free discussions on health topics can positively influence young minds. It highlighted the importance of engaging both boys and girls in menstrual hygiene education to foster empathy and understanding. We also realized that early awareness about anemia and nutrition empowers students to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health and well-being.
