MahaShivaratri

We the Indians observe many festivals and 'service' is always in the background. One such occasion is "MahaShivaratri" dedicated to Lord Shiva. Keeping in view to the large crowd gathering, like all other years Odisha State Bharat Scouts & Guides conducted service camp at two famous temples (Lingaraj Temple and Sudhanidhiswar Temple).

160 Numbers of Rovers & Rangers were called for the service Camp. They reported on the 25th of February and cleaned the premises. The next day morning the service team was being led to different temples as per the allotment. They were divided into groups and allotted different duties such as distribution of water, water sprinkling, carrying the sick persons, maintaining the cleanliness of the temple premises, keeping discipline etc.

It is being learned that this type of service camp should always be conducted.
