Littlewood Primary School reading with Scouts
Through Scouting-in-Schools, learners at Littlewood Primary were introduced to fun, hands-on literacy activities. The aim was to encourage participation, improve comprehension, and help learners experience the joy of reading in a supportive environment.
Learners practiced reading, wrote and shared stories, and learned to use dictionaries and parts of speech. Scouts guided activities, supported struggling learners, and promoted teamwork and creativity, ensuring each child could participate fully.
Scouts realized that engaging activities boost learners’ enthusiasm for reading. Even small, consistent interventions can make a lasting impact, improving literacy, confidence, and collaboration while creating memorable, enjoyable learning experiences.
