Isago Scouts Group and Partners Serve Friends

Following the news on the Category 2 Storm of Cyclone Isai that occurred on March 14th, 2019 on a landfall settlements near Beira city in Mozambique - the heavy rains and winds thereof were strong and led to drastic flooding which caused hundreds of deaths Scout Law No3 says A Scouts Duty is to be helpful and to help others. Seeing the need on television we came together as Scouts Group together and collected clothing to assist In the Natural disaster.
We handed the clothing to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) for distribution this was done under the leadership of Chalpain Montsho . We further collected clothing and Our second distribution shortly after that we partnered with Gladstone Scouts Group and Renailwe Girl Guides and we collected even more bags of clothing and we handed them over to the Salvation Army and the Bacedeni Ngabantu(NGO) under the Leadership of Pastor Botha.
we were able to help those who were affected by this and we we assured by the SANDF that the clothing collected were helpful to the people in Mozambique. This was over 13 black back 2 boxes full of shoes which on estimate could have assisted over 90 people
when we walk together we can achieve more. Because we have doesn't mean that others have . what we throw away could be a treasure to others . this has taught our scouts to respond better to humanitarian aid and has taught us on the impact that natural disasters have on the border communities
