Institutional strengthening of the Scout Association of Venezuela

The project will require the diagnosis and implementation of techniques, tools and systems that allow to understand those aspects that need attention, in the same way, develop the necessary actions to improve or strengthen the processes involved in the project, all of this oriented in order to have an institution that is aligned with the most recent WOSM policy updates, and give the develop of local actions oriented to improve the scout presence in Venezuela, which will lead to the institutional strengthening of the Association of Scouts of Venezuela for the new challenges that as a society we live and to give a face to the vision 2023, achieving: document and to implement good practices of institutional functioning in the SAV; mitigate significantly the risks of the SAV related with the managing of information, equity, reputational, financial, mainly; update the program that is offered to the youth of the country; having a new model of management of adults to the SAV; achieve alignment of policies of SAV with WOSM and optimize the services that provides the CSSN to members of the SAV. In this sense and with the support of the resources of the Fund Salinas Pliego, we expect to develop in the First Stage of the Project, which refers to the first two semesters, in agreement to described in the indicators proposed for each of the foreseen aims, this wants to say, that will develop fundamentally the processes referred to diagnose, designs and part of development of each of the raised objectives, achieving the beginning of the most important and updated projects that the Scout Association of Venezuela has lived, pursuing to adapt to the challenges of the years to come. The second stage is planned to develop in semesters III and IV, giving this the ending of the project on its application and fusion stage.

Through the project, we have achieved to develop several best practices, such as:

  • Develop a National Plan known and discussed by everyone into the institution, and this Plan must be approved by the maximum organism of the Institution. This Plan must have at least three years of planning to ensure the continuity and operability of the all teams in the organization.
  • Structuring multidisciplinary teams which can do the technical job and presenting the proposals. These teams must be integrated by members from different levels of the organization.
  • Conduct national meetings such as seminars, which can be replicated throughout the organization. This type of meeting allows communicating the sight and the strategy in a faster way.
  • Create a service’s platform which allows a fast and direct way to give answers to all NSO and following a record of these attempts.
