The program included public education on the behaviors that may put one at risk of contracting Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV, the Need for Screening and knowing one’s status on the mentioned diseases and the Benefits of Blood Donation. Participants were provided free counseling, Screening and testing for Hepatitis B & C, HIV, and there was blood donation all on voluntary base for those who were interested and availed themselves at the community Centre. One Hundred and Eight (108) participants were Counseled and tested for all three diseases; Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. Fourteen Units of Blood were donated. Scouts and some community members participated in the blood donation. The donated blood was given to the Sawla District Hospital to help care for the severely anemic children.
