Guardians of the Valley
Wadi Degla Protectorate is a vital natural escape near Cairo, yet it frequently suffers from pollution and litter. As Scouts, we regularly lead cleanup initiatives to restore the biodiversity of the area we consider our home. Our mission is to inspire public responsibility and raise awareness about environmental preservation through direct action.
Overnight camping focused on nature and biodiversity, followed by a workshop on the SDGs and youth-led action. Participants learned the importance of waste segregation and recycling, which they immediately applied by cleaning the campsite and surrounding valley. The collected waste was successfully sorted and delivered to a local partner for sustainable recycling.
