Our scout group located on the country side outside city of Holbaek (Denmark) has for many many years created and given out Christmas Decorations to elderly citizens being alone at Christmas time. This year 60 scouts and parents produced 174 Christmas Decorations Monday evening and the day after the scoutshanded them out to elderly citizens. It is a great experience for all scouts to hand out these Christmas Decorations. When knocking the door and handing over a Christmas Decoration the scouts normally are met with great gratitude from the receivers showing them that a small gift gives large positive results. Afterwards we let the scouts tell each other about their experiences and we notice that scouts often are thoughtfull about their experiences after having handed out.
