First Online Proficiency Badge Course of BIAM Model School & College Scout Group-686

First Online Proficiency Badge Course of BIAM Model School & College Scout Group-686

It is also the second online badge course in the history of Bangladesh Scouts, which is an honour for our scout group. With the presence of 103 scouts, including 6 trainers and 3 rovers, this proficiency badge course was conducted with the generous support of 13th Hussars Open Rover Scout Group.Among the scouts, 6 were in technical support and 3 were present in the help desk. The help desk was open for any participant who were having technical problems. We were able to participate in this 8 days long course without any problem. Organizing the course: On 16th June, this project was proposed by our former members of BMSCSG, present members of 13th Hussars ORSG, namely Muhammad Yahya, Raiyan Tausifur Rahman and Effat Chowdhury Dilshad, under the "Covid-19 Action" project of 13th Hussars ORSG. On 18th June, this project was accepted and a supervisor team was given by the 13th Hussars ORSG to help conduct the course for the junior scouts. On 19th June, the badges were selected through consulting opinions of the junior and senior scouts on the BMSCSG Facebook group. From 22nd June to 25th June, we attended the classes conducted by the trainers through the Zoom app. From 29th to 30th June, our assessments were taken and we were selected to get our desired badges. A closing ceremony was also held after the assessment was finished on 30th June. Our senior scouts, instructors and trainers worked hard during this event and helped us wholeheartedly. What is a badge course? It is basically a for scouts to get skilled for their desired proficiency badges. Here, the scouts get the badges by acquiring knowledge and skill related to the subject. In our badge course the classes were taken via Zoom app and were recorded and saved in Google drive to be provided to the scouts who could not attend the classes previously due to any personal problem. Although, practical knowledge is a must for our badges, we hope that we would be taught everything by hand after our school opens. The first day was undoubtedly a success with more than 40 scouts participating the classes directly. We attended the course for 3 more days and attended the final assessment on 29th and 30th June. The closing ceremony and cultural program was conducted with the presence of honourable guests Muhammad Habibul Alam, Bir Protik, Vice President, Bangladesh Scouts President,13th Hussars Open Rover Scout Group. Jubair Eusuf National Coordinator, MoP Secretary, 13th Hussars Open Rover Scouts Group. Uttam Kumar Hazra, Secretary, Dhaka Metro Scouts. This course may be only 8 days long, but its memory will remain with us forever. It was very educational and helpful to us as we wanted to know learn to be an effortful scout. It was actually pretty fun to be a part of this project. We felt great to meet the honourable guests and trainers. It was a great lesson and absolute refreshment in this monotonous quarantine. I thank 13th Hussars Open Rover Scouts Group for letting us be a part of this project. Thankfully, Priangshu Sutradhar, Member of BIAM Model School & College Scout Group.
